Most recently a photojournalist and multimedia producer with the San Jose Mercury News and MSNBC.com, Ching has an extensive background in film and TV production and post-production. His work with the Mercury News has earned first place awards from the National Press Photographers Association, Associated Press, and Editor and Publisher magazine. Prior to journalism, Ching worked 12 years in Los Angeles as an editor, producer and director for TV and film companies such as Disney and Playboy. He has received a National Endowment for the Arts grant and the Motion Pictures Sound Editors Golden Reel Award for his offbeat, short films. A candidate for a master's in journalism from the University of Missouri, Ching studied cinema and design at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a BFA in film from New York University.
